About me

Welcome to Kai Li’s personal website!

I am a fourth-year PhD student in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Syracuse University [SU], I am honorable to be advised by Dr. Yuzhe (Richard) Tang. My research interests lie in security evaluation, vulnerability detection and mitigation, and performance optimization, with current focus on Blockchain.

Specifically, my current research focuses on evaluating the security and mitigating the design flaws in permissionless Blockchain platforms, including Bitcoin and Ethereum. I have a solid understanding of Ethereum’s protocol and codebases (e.g., Geth, Parity/OpenEthereum), with expertise in Ethereum’s APIs, P2P network, Memory pool, Transactions/Blocks propagation, Mining/Nicehash, and smart contracts, etc.

Previously, I received a B.Eng from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautic [NUAA] in 2015. After that, I spent two years at ZTE as a full-time software engineer where I led the development project of ZTE CDN.
